Whatman Filters Back In Stock!
We apologize for the delay we experienced while trying to replenish our stock of whatman filters for the liquid culture jars. But the wait is over! We have a fresh supply and the product is ready to ship.
 
The Whatman filter component that allows the vaccum seal to remain intact while using a syringe. Without this unique component the pressure will not allow liquid culture extraction into the syringe as the internal pressure is not equalized.  When you have the Whatman filter it allows the pressure to release as you insert the syringe and pull up the LC.
 
 
How to use the liquid culture
Just inject the spores of your choice or an already prepared liquid culture into this jar and then incubate for 2-3 weeks. You will then begin to see floating masses of white, cottony, mycelium growing. Once you have a fully colonized LC then you can extract this new LC (liquid culture) using an empty sterile syringe.  From there you inject it into a variety of substrate mediums to produce solid mycelium that can fruit into mushrooms.
 
The liquid culture medium comes in a half quart jar that is specially designed to prevent leaking during shipment. There is also a self healing injection port built into the lid for easy syringe entry and withdrawal.
 
What is the LC made of?
The LC medium itself is a high fructose and H2O blend commonly used and known to produce optimal mycelia growth. Due to custom inquiry we have also made the actual liquid culture lids available as a seperate item without the jar or LC solution.  This is for more experienced mycologists who own a pressure cooker and are confident in preparing there own liquid culture medium but are not able to acquire the valuable whatman filters or the self healing injection port.

Quality product
This was my first attempt using the liquid culture method and I'm very pleased with the results. Mushbox really know's what they're doing. I would recommend this product to anyone who has been successful in the past with more simple methods like PF jars, etc.
